Upcoming Special Release: The Brew Bros ESB

The Brew Bros recently teamed up with Sleepy Dog Brewing for an outstandable brew session and we are all very proud to announce the upcoming unveiling of the Brew Bros ESB! The Extra Special Bitter beer will be premiering at Sleepy Dog Saloon and Brewery sometime around the 5th-7th of July…  we’ll keep you updated so that you can come join us as an incredible 50% of the proceeds from this specific beer sold at the brewery will go towards the Beer for Brains Foundation!!!

This beer recipe was formulated by some of the Brew Bros with Sleepy Dog’s brewing history in mind. Initially the plan was to create a half-barrel batch but Matt Weber and Rob Sizemore were pleased enough with our recipe that they both gave the go-ahead for us all to use their larger system.
This ESB is on the high side of the IBU scale for its style (which still isn’t much for extreme hop lovers) and some honey malts were specifically chosen to give us the desired mouthfeel. All in all, we feel like the recipe will provide for a beer that’ll pair up well with these summer months as the ABV is low enough to enable the sort of session drinking that keeps us out of the heat. The Sleepy Dog brewers did one hell of a job teaching us homebrewers how the pros get it done on such a larger scale. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and tried our best to just shut up, listen and learn.
The brew day was well planned and I feel like our collaborative excitement combined with the expertise of the Sleepy Dog brewers made a positive difference in the brewing process. Without getting too geeky about the details, I am confident that many of our ‘game day’ decisions have ensured that the resulting beer will be one that can be enjoyed by anyone who tries it.

Speaking of trying this beer, if there are any bar managers in Arizona who catch a glimpse of this article near its release date, consider that there should still be some kegs left to spread around. Feel free to comment on this post and/or contact myself or Patrick to get the Brew Bros ESB in your establishment.

I want to take this opportunity to publicly thank Rob and Matt for their instruction, their love of high quality beer and especially for their contribution to an amazing foundation. I also want to encourage everyone who reads this to spread the word about this beer release… we invite you to come enjoy the beer and the guys who work hard to make it!

Prost! And Semper Fi.

Be Sociable, Share!

Jonathan Jameson writes for the same reason that he brews – to share freedom. A San Diegan born, former Marine who has moved more times than a traveling circus, Jonathan’s appreciation for craft beer began in 2004 while riding the Pacific Surfliner train up the Southern Californian coast. Stone’s Arrogant Bastard Strong Ale quickly became his beverage of choice on the café car and opened his mind to the empowerment that variety provides. Since then, to put the big picture in small words, Jonathan has continued to find new ways to share his passion for beer and his love affair with expression.
